On 28 March 2025, the One Earth Summit 2025 marked a significant advance in the sustainability movement in Asia, gathering 42 global leaders and 500 senior executives to drive action for our planet. We were honored to host Financial Secretary Paul Chan as our officiating guest and opening speaker, who highlighted the importance of financing the green transition and reaffirmed Hong Kong’s commitment to climate action. Following his remarks, Mr. Rob van Riet discussed the World Economic Forum's partnership to amplify our impact, while Ms. Amy Lo, JP presented insightful data on UBS’ sustainability initiatives.
Keynote speeches from leaders such as Ms. Damilola Ogunbiyi emphasized the significance of public-private-philanthropic partnerships for a just energy transition. Prof. Jeffrey Sachs and Mr. Vuk Jeremic contributed to a compelling discussion on the role of Asian leadership in sustainability, especially amid geopolitical challenges, while Mr. Lutfey Siddiqi showcased the Global South's innovative approaches to addressing climate and nature issues.
The summit concluded with inspiring closing remarks from Mr. Chavalit Frederick Tsao, emphasizing the importance of love in guiding our green transition.
This event was made possible by our generous sponsors, including the HKSAR Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Environmental Conservation Fund, along with corporate sponsors UBS and TPC (Tsao Pao Chee). Their steadfast support is vital as we continue to champion climate action.
We are proud to have hosted the One Earth Summit in Hong Kong, reinforcing our city's vision as a global hub for sustainability innovation and green finance. Thank you to all our attendees and contributors for uniting in our mission to protect our planet.
